Your first international trip is exciting, and the visa is usually the only part that feels stressful. A little planning makes it straightforward.

Start early

Start your visa application at least six to eight weeks before departure. Processing times vary by country and season, and summer and festive periods are always busier.

Check your passport first

Make sure your passport has at least six months of validity beyond your return date and two blank pages. Renewing a passport can take several weeks, so check this before you book flights.

Documents most embassies ask for

  • Recent passport-size photographs to the exact specification
  • Bank statements for the last three to six months
  • Confirmed hotel bookings and a return flight itinerary
  • Leave letter from your employer, or business registration if self-employed
  • Travel insurance covering the full trip

Our visa desk can review your file before submission to reduce the chance of a rejection.
